Handcrafted muffins, buttermilk scones, and small-batch coffee — made from scratch each dawn on the Outer Banks.
Fresh from the oven before the tide comes in
Locally roasted, carefully pulled, poured with care
Butter, eggs, and fruit from the surrounding counties
A gathering place for locals and visitors alike
Born from a love of slow mornings and the belief that the best conversations start over coffee.
Muffins And Scones started as a weekend pop-up on the strip before we found our permanent spot right off NC-12, where the sound of the ocean replaces the hum of traffic.
Everything on our counter is mixed, shaped, and baked in-house — no frozen dough, no shortcuts. Our buttermilk scones are made the old way: cold butter, buttermilk from a local dairy, and enough flour to hold together without drying out.
We source our coffee from a small roaster in the Triangle and pull every shot by hand. The menu changes with the seasons because that's what the farmers around here do — they don't force it, and neither do we.
Morning light, flour on the counter, and the kind of place that makes you want to stay a while.
We're right on the main strip — easy to find, hard to leave.
